...Trip to botanic gardens...
Friday, April 17, 2009

Halo pplz wei zheng here...this is a belated post as I could not find time to post so here it is...
It was actually an exhibition, but no one was there to guide us along or something. Mr Tan told us to explore the place and be back at 4.20pm. Not sure what the others were doing but on that day, I spent most of my time feeding the fishes. :)

There was a dispensing machine and we can buy food capsules for $1. It makes me wonder..do they feed the fishes since they have such a machine? After a while, I went to check out the exhibition and saw a lot of rubber items being displayed...tires...balls...gloves...etc..etc...There was also library there, which seems to be a perfect place to study. Learned many things on that trip, but the most valuable information would be how useful rubber can be.

I also learned that pigeons eat fish food too! I even tried putting the food on my hand to see if the pigeons would somehow eat them. But alas! They ignored me completely!

Once again, this was indeed a fun and educational EC trip. Signing off, wei zheng.

Kids playing at the playground (Belated post)
Friday, February 27, 2009

On 25th February 2009, Wednesday, the entire club went for some fun and games at the playground near the school. Everybody, including our teacher-in-charge, Mr tan had a lot of fun there.

Mr Tan told us to go to the area to get some questions about that place. We also enjoyed the nature walk around the wooden bridge and played in the playground like little kids.

Signing off, wei zheng.

Aqualife website exploring
Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Today we were asked to go to the Responsibility room to play some games on the Aqualife website. o.O Mr Tan took the opportunity to snap some pictures of us with his trusty camera. Wonder how his pictures will look as many of us avoided the camera!

But still, the day was quite interesting as the whole computer lab was filled with the music of the games and someone from our club volunteered to help Mr Tan on the jigsaw game.:) wei zheng

Farewell for Seniors
Wednesday, February 4, 2009

Here are some pictures taken
during the party for our graduated seniors!

Muffins, nuggets, fried rice, sandwiches, chips, ...
that's quite a spread!
Thanks to everyone who contributed all that food, drinks and cutlery!

Was Xuan Ning dancing?

Passing on the Flame of Environmental Passion

Discussing the strategy for the game

Who was Shi An pointing at? And why was Kar Mun so happy?

Our past and present Chairperson

Thanks for such a wonderful day!
Special thanks to the Welfare Committee
who organised the whole party!

I was especially impressed when I returned to the classroom after the games, and saw that all the tables and chairs have already been arranged back to the original setting, and the entire place has already been cleaned up! That's indeed a great display of responsibility and initiative!
Keep it up!

Farewell party 2009

Hello everybody, wei zheng here. Today was a joyous day for us indeed. A lot of people contributed snacks for the special event for our graduated members, or rather friends.

At 3 pm, we had already prepared the food, which is some soft drinks and snacks, and were waiting. Finally, our VIPs came. We ate in the class, and had a laptop that played music from YouTube that we could choose.

We had a lot of fun chatting and munching all the way till 4.15pm in which we cleared up the rubbish and were ready for the second phase of the event, that being the games part.

A lot of the members were wondering what our organizers could come up with. Could it be another Dumbo game? It turned out to be a treasure hunt game. I think that scavenger hunt suits it more! Basically, we had to walk around the school in groups of 10, with a leader guarding a lighted candle, making sure the fire is not blown out.

The rest had to find the various stations, which were actually EC members with tasks you have to perform. One task requires you to write out the word PLANT with your butts! It was so hilarious, as they seem so cute. I was the leader so I was spared! :)

The candle I was holding burned out and I got a new one, which got burned out pretty soon.

Overall, I feel that the event was really meaningful, as it was really a great change from the usual project-doing and environment-awareness time. I am sure everyone enjoyed the event. That's all and remember to always check back!
